Products Showing as “Sold Out” When Inventory Exists on BrandsGateway

If you’ve noticed that your products are displaying as “Out of Stock” on your Shopify store — even though inventory exists — this issue is not caused by the BrandsGateway app. Instead, it is typically related to your Shopify inventory location and settings configuration.

🔍 Why This Happens

When products are imported via BrandsGateway, they are synced with the correct inventory levels. However, if your Shopify location settings, sales channels, or fulfillment options are not properly configured, Shopify may still show those items as sold out.

This behavior is fully managed by Shopify and not something the BrandsGateway app can control or override.

✅ How to Fix It

1. Make Sure the App Has Access to Your Store

  • Go to your Shopify Admin > Apps.
  • Make sure BrandsGateway is installed.
  • If prompted to grant permissions, accept all permissions (especially inventory, product, and location management).

If the app is already installed, no further action is needed unless you see a permissions warning.

2. Check That App Locations Are Enabled

  • Go to Settings > Locations in Shopify.
  • Under App locations, you should see multiple BrandsGateway fulfillment centers (e.g., BrandsGateway Italy - Florence, BrandsGateway Germany - Salzburg, etc.).
  • These locations should be visible and not disabled.

Do not delete or deactivate these locations, even if you don’t fulfill from them manually — this is where BrandsGateway syncs stock.

3. Avoid Using Local Manual Locations for Dropship Products

  • If you’ve created a manual location (like a physical warehouse or retail store), that’s fine — but don’t assign BrandsGateway products to that location, or they may appear as out of stock.
  • Shopify checks inventory per location, and if your store tries to fulfill from a location with 0 stock, it will show as "Sold Out."

4. Let the App Automatically Handle Fulfillment

  • Do not manually assign fulfillment locations in your product setup.
  • BrandsGateway’s app will automatically assign each product to the appropriate fulfillment location based on available stock.
  • If you override this manually, you may break the connection and cause out-of-stock issues.

  • Open the BrandsGateway app in Shopify.
  • Go to the Integrity Check section and click Start.
  • This will revalidate the sync and ensure all product data, pricing, and stock are in order.
